Vic’s is located in a beautiful old cotton warehouse overlooking the Savannah River and Historic River Street. With entrances on both Bay and River Streets, we are easy to access. Pets are welcomed on our outdoor patio, where guests can dine under centuries-old Live Oaks overlooking Historic Factors Walk.     I’ve had much better experiences.. request a window seat when I did the reservation and that was not honored..my food came out cold and I was never offered a refill when my glass was empty.. Just not a good experience today..

    My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience at Vic’s on the River! The food was very tasteful and the atmosphere was charming. Our server, Mike, was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks! We love Vic’s!

    Our server, Aaron, did an excellent job. He was friendly and attentive. The room with the view of the river is beautiful, the pear salad and the fried green tomatoes were awesome. The shrimp and grits was a little too mushy for us, and we would like to come again one day and try a different entree. All in all, however, we had a lovely evening.

    The was a disappointing lunch. The staff were wonderful and gracious but the food was atrocious. The restaurant is supposed to be upscale. The food was not. I ordered the she crab soup and fried green tomato blt. The soup was too thick (gummy) filled with cold clumpy crab. The taste was good and original with a creole flair but I just couldn’t get over the texture. The sandwich was worse. It was supposed to be served on toasted sourdough. I would expect a restaurant of this caliber to use bread, if not made in house, than at least purchased from a bakery. This was more like the cheap knockoff sourdough you can find a Walmart (yes I too am guilty of using the cheap bread but no one is expecting gourmet from me). As for toasted? The bead was not toasted but had been quickly layed on a grill to get the marks but still uncooked through out. The actual fried green tomato was good but I had to remove it from the sandwich half to enjoy it. I was too sad to eat the other half. My husband had the pecan breaded flounder. He found something “off” about the breading but once he scraped it off he enjoyed the fish.

    I’ve visited Vic’s many times previously but this time my meal was almost inedible. The shrimp was entirely too salty so I didn’t even attempt anything else on my plate.

    Not impressed. Every dish was HEAVILY salted. I had meatloaf that was totally tasteless. Debating if there was ground beef in it. Crab soup was also salty and I normally add salt to every dish I eat. Hubby had shrimp and grits which were passable. Lots of other restaurants in town that are MUCH better.
