Built in 1840, this Cape May estate is now home to the acclaimed Washington Inn and Wine Bar. The Craig Family has carefully preserved the beauty & essence of this distinctive treasure without undertaking major alterations to its original form. The Inn's welcoming facade overlooks tree-lined Washington Street in the seaside community Historic District. The Washington Inn offers six unique dining areas, from a summer patio to cozy fireside tables. Cocktails are a must in the Wine Bar, where the passing Cape May scene can be best appreciated. If your guest list is longer, we can help to arrange a reception at the Cape May Beach Club, the Isaac Smith Vineyard, Cape May Winery, your home or wherever you prefer.

    These events, hosted by our in-house wine team, are capped at 16 guests and held in our cozy Wine Cellar. A complimentary cheese and snack plate is provided. The focus is on enjoying a rare, unique wine alongside fellow wine enthusiasts. Featuring four half-glass pours, Somm's Table creates a relaxed, small-group setting to savor and learn about a luxurious aged library wine or a magnum bottle. This month, we will explore sustainable, organic, biodynamic winemaking pioneers Kistler and Flowers and some of Sonoma’s Chardonnay and Pinot Noir terroir.

                                        We have been dining at Washington Inn over many years. It is a special place for our family. Tonight's dining experience was really great. The menu is a bit different, a little more refined and creative. We appreciate the new menu items... even though we have always loved the older menu. Glad to see the wine and drink list tablets gone, too. Our server, Sonata, was so skilled and friendly. It was a perfect evening.

                                        Have been here a few times, absolutely incredible! Wife and I always come here when we come down to cape May without the kids and it never disappoints! So incredible! Thank you!

                                        The ceasar salad was a bit underwhelming. Leaves were a bit tough and not enough cheese in the salad. Also, the salad could have used one additional ingredient to make it complete! On the other hand, the beets with feta foam was excellent.

                                        We come to the Washington Inn all the time. Last night was a very bad experience. And it was Valentine’s Day. They changed the menu, prices went up and the dishes got smaller. My husband got the Delicata squash Dish it was actually disgusting and not edible. The quinoa in the Delicata squash was so greasy and over spiced. We don’t mind paying these prices but please have edible things on the menu.

                                        Was disappointed my steak was very good / but for that price - it came with about 2 tablespoons spoons of mash potatoes & no vegetable - also no salad offered - I would not have minded paying for a salad offered a side veg but never offered
