Chef Tyler Florence brings his passion for high quality and style to San Francisco with his new flagship restaurant, Wayfare Tavern. A classic San Francisco Tavern featuring authentic American dishes inspired by local cuisine at the turn of the 20th century, the menu ranges from classic comforts to rustic delicacies. The beverage menu features locally-sourced wines including a selection of Florence's own label, quality draft beers and organic root beer as well as classic Victorian-era cocktails.

All three floors of the restaurant have been designed keeping historical accuracy in mind making Wayfare Tavern reminiscent of a Victorian parlor and an Edwardian men's club, where anything goes from black-tie to blue jeans. Pull up a stool to the Chef's Counter at the open kitchen and look on as Chef prepares your lunch or head to the Library and Billiard Room for a game of pool.     Celebrate New Year's Eve at Wayfare Tavern’s multi-level bash! We are opening the entire Restaurant including the private rooms for you to celebrate the New Year - and we are pulling out all the stops. Start on the main floor with a welcome drink, live jazz, passed appetizers, and dancing by the fireplace. Visit the second floor’s Buck Bar for cocktails, seafood towers, carving stations, and pool. On the third floor, enjoy martinis, live music and charcuterie in the Bartlett Room. The Sequoia Room in the Penthouse transforms into a disco with DJs and a full bar to dance in the New Year.     From December 22nd to December 30th, Wayfare Tavern's Sequoia Room, located on the 4th floor, will transform into a glamorous, cozy escape, and you’re invited to join the party! Enter through the 558 1/2 Sequoia Entrance and step into a festive affair as our pop-up serves up holiday magic with a dash of speakeasy allure. Dress to impress and bring your festive spirit! This Cocktail Bar Experience offers holiday-inspired cocktails, small bites, and a few indulgent desserts. While these options provide light nibbles, they are not intended to replace a full meal. For a more robust dining experience, we suggest making a reservation in Wayfare Tavern's Dining Room. Celebrate the season with us in style!

                                            Always the best service. Staff are so polite and attentive. We were celebrating our anniversary and they kindly provided a little dessert with a nice message.

                                            I love a restaurant that has front of house service with such aggressive attention to detail. My napkin dropped on the floor it was immediately picked up and changed out. Cutlery is brought to your table warm. My water glass never was more than half way empty before it was filled. Exceptional service. Also the food was phenomenal.

                                            Wonderful food, and the service was up and down. At times, we had more then enough coverage, and others, we spent waiting for someone to catch the eye of to get a spoon or mop up a mess that the table next to us left it get a spoon, which never actually happened.

                                            Learned about the place when my colleagues took me for lunch here, on a few occasions. Today I came back with my family members to have a small celebration. The food was and the ambience were as expected.

                                            Sadly the food experience has declined. Not many were impressed with their food. The steak was chewy, the salmon didn't have much flavor and even the salads were dry.

                                            Loved our annual holiday lunch at Wayfare. Food was amazing, staff was very generous and kind, and the decor was incredibly cozy and festive. Hoping to be able to get into the pop-up holiday bar next week.

                                            I was looking forward to their fried chicken but it was disappointing. I would have preferred at least part of a breast and the pieces were not particularly meaty. Salmon was very good. Mashed potatoes and Mac and Cheese were tasty.
