Chef Tyler Florence brings his passion for high quality and style to San Francisco with his new flagship restaurant, Wayfare Tavern. A classic San Francisco Tavern featuring authentic American dishes inspired by local cuisine at the turn of the 20th century, the menu ranges from classic comforts to rustic delicacies. The beverage menu features locally-sourced wines including a selection of Florence's own label, quality draft beers and organic root beer as well as classic Victorian-era cocktails.

All three floors of the restaurant have been designed keeping historical accuracy in mind making Wayfare Tavern reminiscent of a Victorian parlor and an Edwardian men's club, where anything goes from black-tie to blue jeans. Pull up a stool to the Chef's Counter at the open kitchen and look on as Chef prepares your lunch or head to the Library and Billiard Room for a game of pool. Celebrate New Year's Eve at Wayfare Tavern’s multi-level bash! We are opening the entire Restaurant including the private rooms for you to celebrate the New Year - and we are pulling out all the stops. Start on the main floor with a welcome drink, live jazz, passed appetizers, and dancing by the fireplace. Visit the second floor’s Buck Bar for cocktails, seafood towers, carving stations, and pool. On the third floor, enjoy martinis, live music and charcuterie in the Bartlett Room. The Sequoia Room in the Penthouse transforms into a disco with DJs and a full bar to dance in the New Year. From December 22nd to December 30th, Wayfare Tavern's Sequoia Room, located on the 4th floor, will transform into a glamorous, cozy escape, and you’re invited to join the party! Enter through the 558 1/2 Sequoia Entrance and step into a festive affair as our pop-up serves up holiday magic with a dash of speakeasy allure. Dress to impress and bring your festive spirit! This Cocktail Bar Experience offers holiday-inspired cocktails, small bites, and a few indulgent desserts. While these options provide light nibbles, they are not intended to replace a full meal. For a more robust dining experience, we suggest making a reservation in Wayfare Tavern's Dining Room. Celebrate the season with us in style!

Beef tartar had great flavor and the beef cheek stroganoff is rich and tender. Will definitely come back to just enjoy a burger at the bar!

The speakeasy popup was lackluster. Long wait to sit down despite having a reservation. Lite bites took over an hour to arrive (with part of the order having never made it despite the server checking for us twice). Drinks also took a while. Great concept but execution needs significant improvement.

Fun addition to the holiday bars to visit in SF. The pop-up speakeasy was a great experience and our group had a wonderful time! Hope you do it again next year!

Wayfare Tavern has been consistently good for many years. The holiday pop-up in the Sequoia Room was no different. A really fun and intimate holiday scene with creative and festive cocktails. The small bites were delicious and paired well with the seasonal cocktails. Will definitely keep an eye out for similar events.

Dinner was absolutely amazing, so grateful to the hostess staff for being accommodating to the crazy schedule of my boss. I was able to help him look like a rockstar on his date. He’s already texting me saying that they will be back.

We enjoyed the cocktails, deviled eggs, fried chicken, butter lettuce salad, and homemade donuts. And the popovers are always a hit!

We went for the holiday popup upstairs. Drinks were OK - one was great and one less so. Food was reasonably tasty but seemed a bit overpriced for 3 bites. Service was the weakest point - took a while for our server to come to our table when we arrived and after we clearly had empty drinks and plates, and our second round of drinks never came out after like 30 minutes - we ended up having them taken off the check instead. Ambiance was very nice - comfy seating and great holiday decor, but the experience overall was disappointing.

Wayfair Tavern did not disappoint. It was very good. Starting with the popovers that were delicious . We then had the fried chicken, steak Diane , salmon and the beef stroganoff. all were amazing. We had the best server who was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to .
