Chef Tyler Florence brings his passion for high quality and style to San Francisco with his new flagship restaurant, Wayfare Tavern. A classic San Francisco Tavern featuring authentic American dishes inspired by local cuisine at the turn of the 20th century, the menu ranges from classic comforts to rustic delicacies. The beverage menu features locally-sourced wines including a selection of Florence's own label, quality draft beers and organic root beer as well as classic Victorian-era cocktails.

All three floors of the restaurant have been designed keeping historical accuracy in mind making Wayfare Tavern reminiscent of a Victorian parlor and an Edwardian men's club, where anything goes from black-tie to blue jeans. Pull up a stool to the Chef's Counter at the open kitchen and look on as Chef prepares your lunch or head to the Library and Billiard Room for a game of pool.     Celebrate New Year's Eve at Wayfare Tavern’s multi-level bash! We are opening the entire Restaurant including the private rooms for you to celebrate the New Year - and we are pulling out all the stops. Start on the main floor with a welcome drink, live jazz, passed appetizers, and dancing by the fireplace. Visit the second floor’s Buck Bar for cocktails, seafood towers, carving stations, and pool. On the third floor, enjoy martinis, live music and charcuterie in the Bartlett Room. The Sequoia Room in the Penthouse transforms into a disco with DJs and a full bar to dance in the New Year.     From December 22nd to December 30th, Wayfare Tavern's Sequoia Room, located on the 4th floor, will transform into a glamorous, cozy escape, and you’re invited to join the party! Enter through the 558 1/2 Sequoia Entrance and step into a festive affair as our pop-up serves up holiday magic with a dash of speakeasy allure. Dress to impress and bring your festive spirit! This Cocktail Bar Experience offers holiday-inspired cocktails, small bites, and a few indulgent desserts. While these options provide light nibbles, they are not intended to replace a full meal. For a more robust dining experience, we suggest making a reservation in Wayfare Tavern's Dining Room. Celebrate the season with us in style!

                                            Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant too loud and overcrowded. Food was overall delicious, especially Brioche bread and butter, deviled eggs and butter lettuce salad. Chicken and waffles had to be sent back as chicken not fully cooked. Chorizo gravy was bland and flour -heavy, not tasty. Cocktails were yummy. We had Manhattan and Vesper martini.

                                            Had Steak Diane, the tartar and butter lettuce salad. All were perfect. Despite busy Friday night at peak time, server was on his game and glasses never empty. Their signature donuts for dessert is not to be missed. Great dinner, making this a regular stop.

                                            The service was impeccable, the cuisine delicious and the ambience energetic, yet cozy. I treated a friend who I hadn’t seen in 47 years and he was very impressed with everything, but especially the service. Thank you for a divine meal and for still being in business.

                                            We had colleagues in from Texas who wanted to experience a great dining experience so I invited them to the Wayfare Tavern. The evening was exceptional as was the service and the meal. We loved the deviled eggs and fried chicken and whipped mashed potatoes with burrata cheese - outstanding!
