Chef Tyler Florence brings his passion for high quality and style to San Francisco with his new flagship restaurant, Wayfare Tavern. A classic San Francisco Tavern featuring authentic American dishes inspired by local cuisine at the turn of the 20th century, the menu ranges from classic comforts to rustic delicacies. The beverage menu features locally-sourced wines including a selection of Florence's own label, quality draft beers and organic root beer as well as classic Victorian-era cocktails.

All three floors of the restaurant have been designed keeping historical accuracy in mind making Wayfare Tavern reminiscent of a Victorian parlor and an Edwardian men's club, where anything goes from black-tie to blue jeans. Pull up a stool to the Chef's Counter at the open kitchen and look on as Chef prepares your lunch or head to the Library and Billiard Room for a game of pool.     Celebrate New Year's Eve at Wayfare Tavern’s multi-level bash! We are opening the entire Restaurant including the private rooms for you to celebrate the New Year - and we are pulling out all the stops. Start on the main floor with a welcome drink, live jazz, passed appetizers, and dancing by the fireplace. Visit the second floor’s Buck Bar for cocktails, seafood towers, carving stations, and pool. On the third floor, enjoy martinis, live music and charcuterie in the Bartlett Room. The Sequoia Room in the Penthouse transforms into a disco with DJs and a full bar to dance in the New Year.     From December 22nd to December 30th, Wayfare Tavern's Sequoia Room, located on the 4th floor, will transform into a glamorous, cozy escape, and you’re invited to join the party! Enter through the 558 1/2 Sequoia Entrance and step into a festive affair as our pop-up serves up holiday magic with a dash of speakeasy allure. Dress to impress and bring your festive spirit! This Cocktail Bar Experience offers holiday-inspired cocktails, small bites, and a few indulgent desserts. While these options provide light nibbles, they are not intended to replace a full meal. For a more robust dining experience, we suggest making a reservation in Wayfare Tavern's Dining Room. Celebrate the season with us in style!

                                            You have a dish called rigatoni. It was not rigatoni. It was pasta shells. When we questioned it, your manager said it was rigatoni. We are not stupid.

                                            Server was boring and unhelpful. The drinks were so so , and the food had absolutely no flavor. Fortunately, this was our only bad experience while in SF. I definitely won’t be back, nor recommend this place for anything.

                                            Not seated at reservation time but redirected to inferior bar seating; had to wait to get original seating request. Service was desultory, indifferent and poor. Had to beg for bread. Appetizer not ordered was brought to table. Request for condiment was ignored. Despite inquiring twice about the reservation info, our 10th anniversary was completely ignored.

                                            First time sitting at the bar for dinner, and it was equally as lovely. The atmosphere was lively and bustling. Food, impeccably delicious! Please don’t leave this location!!!
