Serving inventive Japanese cuisine using the freshest seafood from Tokyo’s famed Tsukiji market and local New England fishermen, and borrowing influence from the streets of Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok and Bangladesh, Uni is the evolution of Ken Oringer’s intimate sashimi bar of the same name, which expanded into the former Clio space in 2016. UNI is currently helmed by Executive Chef David Bazirgan.

    The food was good meeting standards you'd anticipate for this restaurant. However, the service was slow and a bit of a mess. Despite the staff being polite, there were noticeable delays between courses, and the attention to detail was lacking. Orders were mixed up, and it seemed like the staff was either overwhelmed or not well-coordinated. Given the high prices, I was expecting a much smoother and more attentive dining experience. While the food itself was enjoyable, the disorganized and sluggish service really detracted from the overall experience and didn't align with the premium cost. It felt more like a hotel restaurant than a destination, dining experience.

    We had the ten courses tasting menu. Everything was amazing; the creativity in preparation and the layers of flavor in each taste were incredible, and the service was top-notch. This is sushi above and beyond! It’s not inexpensive, but well worth it for a special night out.

    Still a great place. Upstairs dining room still feels like a change, but this place has not lost a step on food, cocktails, or service.

    Another unforgettable experience at Uni! This time on NYE; the atmosphere was electric, simply buzzing with positive energy as we rang in the new year. The food was exceptional, each dish beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor—the sushi as fresh and expertly prepared (as always). Highly recommend!

    Absolutely one of the best dining experiences we have had. The food was spectacular. Our server was great, always there when we needed him but we were definitely not rushed. The plates came out nicely spaced. Perhaps on a busier night things wouldn’t be so perfect, but I’d be willing to take that chance. We will definitely be back.
